On 040806 K-9 Caleb and I were called in to track
entering auto suspects who had taken several thousands of dollars worth of
construction tools and equipment.  Caleb immediately picked up a track and after
about 500 yards of tracking through an apartment complex we got a visual of one
of the suspects who turned and fled.  After tracking him about 100 more yards I
got another visual of him running through a parking lot so I gave several K-9
warnings to stop.  The suspect turned and looked at us then put it into a higher
gear.  Caleb was then sent to apprehend him from about 75 yards away.  The
suspect made it another ten yards before being taken down by Caleb.  After he was
in custody we continued the search for a second suspect who Caleb found hiding in
a cab of a pick up truck.  The second suspect surredered to us without incident.

the back yard of a residence.  K-9 Cody continued tracking up to a van parked in
the back yard where the severly injured suspect was located.  An ambulance was
called to the scene which transported him to the hospital.  Medical personel told
